Mandatory WCB coverage for volunteer departments coming to Nova Scotia

On Thursday, the Nova Scotia government said it is amending the legislation governing the Workers' Compensation Board to make it mandatory for municipalities to pay for the coverage of volunteer fire department members in their respective jurisdictions.


Ontario selects Bell for first responder radio overhaul

The Ontario government has selected Bell Mobility to rebuild core components of its aging Public Safety Radio Network. The $765 million in funding was announced last year and will go towards reconstructing core infrastructure, replacing outdated equipment and maintaining the new radio network.
